August 31st in Boston is an infamous day when 70,000 students head back to school. You’ve got frustrated students, parents, neighbors, double parked cars, deadlocked traffic, and moving boxes all competing for space on the city’s roads and sidewalks. The temptation for locals come Labor Day is often to flee the city for sunnier beachier climates. The Cape, the Berkshires, and the Vineyard provides us with an opportunity for summer’s last hurrah.

The upside is that you will be in town for Labor Day weekend. The Red Sox are playing the White Sox and tickets are easier than normal to get because all of the locals have retreated to the Cape for the final holiday weekend of the summer.
