August 31st in Boston is an infamous day when 70,000 students head back to school. You’ve got frustrated students, parents, neighbors, double parked cars, deadlocked traffic, and moving boxes all competing for space on the city’s roads and sidewalks. The temptation for locals come Labor Day is often to flee the city for sunnier beachier climates. The Cape, the Berkshires, and the Vineyard provides us with an opportunity for summer’s last hurrah.

It’s been a busy summer of concerts in Boston including Justin Timberlake, Jay Z, and Beyonce. If you are in town over Labor Day you can check out the Hyde Park Jazz Fest to be held at Martini Memorial Shell park in Hyde Park MA.
Broadway’s Wicked is playing until September 15th at the Boston Opera House.
